Yellow Hibiscuses in Progress
by Marcia Minnichhofer on 06/05/19I am eliminating some leaves or changing their shapes as I move toward the bottom. Bright morning light will be coming from the right side. I will paint to the edges of the paper and then decide whether or not to crop the painting smaller.

Yellow Hibiscuses Starting
by Marcia Minnichhofer on 06/02/19I put the first layer of yellow on the flowers so that I know where they are. Then I started on the leaves. Not all leaves will be as detailed.

Next Project - Pink Hibiscuses
by Marcia Minnichhofer on 04/06/19These pink hibiscuses were all in a row which caught my attention. The emphasis will be on the blossoms with some of the leaves eliminated or fading into the background. I love the challenge of painting ruffles!

Heliconia Background
by Marcia Minnichhofer on 03/28/19I am painting bottom to top now and adding color to the heliconia as needed. The masking fluid was removed so I will be careful not to paint over areas that should be white.

Heliconias in Progress
by Marcia Minnichhofer on 03/24/19This one will be a tangle of heliconias. I am using masking fluid to save the highlights versus painting around them.
